The Partnership Tax Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Firm and its' partners UK tax affairs.

A leading independent law firm which has grown rapidly in the last decade and has seen its revenue increase significantly. The firm has an international community of clients spanning; Corporate; Dispute Resolution; Employment; Innovation; Private; and Real Estate.

Description

The role will report into the Head of Group Tax and the responsibilities will include the following;

  • Management of UK partnership income tax compliance for all UK entities within the Firm's structure
  • Working with the Head of Group Tax to provide guidance to the Firm on various tax advisory projects (e.g. new entities, ventures, employment)
  • Management of the Firm's relationship with partners tax accountants, including review of fee structures, quality of information provided, etc;
  • Management of firm policies on partner drawings and tax reserving;
  • Management of profit sharing models and calculations, tax reserves, and profit distributions;
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of partner general ledger accounts, including oversight of partner drawings;
  • Preparation and review of partnership tax computation, and partnership tax return;
  • Working with the Payroll Manager to ensure PAYE and NIC compliance, including review of P11Ds and PAYE settlement agreement;
  • Advising and undertaking status reviews under IR35 regulations;
  • General withholding tax management and resolution of related queries;
  • Corporation tax filings for all relevant subsidiary entities;
  • Responsibility for VAT compliance for all UK entities
  • Input and recommendations to enhance current processes/systems/reporting methods;
  • Responding to ad-hoc information requests and performing ad-hoc analysis/project work

Profile

  • Qualified accountant (CTA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Experience of completing partnership tax returns and income tax calculations
  • Strong understanding of UK income tax regulations
  • VAT experience is essential
  • Experience of working in professional services environment is preferred but not essential
  • Experience supporting junior team members of tax team
  • Willingness to support junior staff
  • Outstanding excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player
