Finance Manager - £45,000 - Huddersfield, hybrid working

A well-established and respected family business in Huddersfield is recruiting for a Finance Manager to join the team.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and managing three more junior members of the finance team the role will provide all aspects for development and progression whilst maintaining the duties below:

• Preparation of timely and accurate month end accounting and reporting
• Balance sheet maintenance and reconciliations (stock, debtors, creditors, accruals, prepayments).
• Production and submission of VAT Returns, plus any other statutory documentation, as required.
• Assist with yearly budgeting process and any necessary reforecasts throughout the year
• Work in partnership with the customer support team on credit control to ensure payment terms are adhered to and aged debt escalated appropriately
• Lead the annual statutory audits and assist auditors with Corporation Tax calculations
• Liaising with HMRC on statutory matters- e.g., PAYE/ NI
• Cash flow analysis
• Responsibility for administering the weekly payment runs to supplier in line with agreed payment terms
• Foreign currency exchange and account management
• Track the company's financial status and performance and suggest potential improvements
• Ensure all financial procedures and policies are followed and compliant

Requirements

• Qualified (ACCA, CIMA)
• Strong Excel skills and generally very computer literate

• Have previous experience working for an SME in a similar role and strong technical knowledge
• Be able to communicate effectively across the organisation and with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
• Enthusiastic individual that is keen to learn, get involved and develop and improve processes
• High level of organisation, able to manage own workload to meet tight deadlines

• £40,000 to £45,000 salary
