Assistant Management Accountant £32,000-£35,000 annual salary Permanent Role Higher Education Oxford / Hybrid

Your new role

• To attend management and budget holder meetings
• To prepare and present monthly financial reports to senior management and budget holders, assist with analysis of variations to budget, interpretation of the financial position, provide support and challenge to the budget holder forecast to year end and action changes
• Work with budget holders to build the budget and financial forecasts
• Support the budget holders to prepare an accurate year end position
• Respond to internal and external auditor enquiries
• Provide financial and performance analysis on spend
• Meet all key financial deadlines set by central finance teams in terms of month and year end, planning and reporting
• Work collaboratively with budget holders, including central finance to define cost improvement projects, ensuring the costs are comprehensive and accurate and correctly allocated to capital and revenue and are built into the budget at the correct time

What you'll need to succeed
 

• AAT or part-qualified accountant
• Relevant experience of working in a finance office
• Experience of budgeting, strategic planning, monitoring and reporting.
• Experience of using financial systems
• High standard of computer literacy with strong Excel skills and ability to use financial systems
• Ability to work under own initiative with minimal supervision
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team
• Ability to prepare clear and meaningful project reports
• IT: Excel (essential)
• Experience of finance administration in an educational establishment (desirable)
