You’ll work alongside senior members of the client’s management team in planning the audit process from beginning to end, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and fair presentation of our client’s information.

We invest heavily in our clients, people and technology. We are a fast growing business unit with a focus on mid tier businesses helping them to solve important problems. We operate across a wide variety of markets including listed, PE backed, entrepreneurial private businesses and inbound global audits.

We cover a variety of clients and have teams focussing on travel, business services, retail and hospitality, construction and real estate, technology, media and communications as well as industrial products offering the opportunity to broaden your experience or specialise.

As a Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day to day management of our audit work across a wide range of sectors and a base of complex, high profile clients. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of your engagements, ensuring the high quality of your team’s audit work and reporting.
Across your portfolio of clients you will have responsibility for building and maintaining strong relationships. Broader client liaison and management of technical issues. You’ll also assist with project management of the job including managing the staffing of the job, the financial performance and ensuring that key deadlines are met. You will develop industry and technical expertise in audit and use state of the art analytical tools and practice methods in your role to undertake audit work to the highest possible standards.

Our Managers are responsible for training and coaching junior audit team members and are also likely to have wider coaching and people management responsibilities, as well as leadership roles within their home office.

Our Managers also work to support our business development team on client proposals and work to establish new relationships within the local marketplace, and are expected to build relationships with other specialist teams within PwC to ensure that we can help clients with the issues they are facing, all providing opportunities to get involved in other related activities and to provide a greater breadth of experience.
Essential skills and experience
  • ACA or equivalent qualification and solid post qualification experience

  • Experience operating at Manager in a similar environment

  • Experience of working on IFRS engagements as well as UK GAAP (experience of other accounting frameworks an advantage, particularly US)

  • A passion for delivering exceptional client service

  • Proven ability to lead audit engagements from planning to completion on a diverse range of assignments

  • An aptitude for embracing and adapting to new technology

  • A proven ability to manage and monitor engagement budgets and financial performance

  • Ability to spot opportunities to add value to clients and work with colleagues in other lines of service to help clients find solutions to the challenges they face

  • Ability to work to tight timelines and manage well under pressure

  • Be able to work flexibly in relation to locations and alongside flexible working colleagues
