The Accounting Consulting Services (ACS) team is looking for a Senior Manager to join them for the role of supporting the Global Chief Accountant and the Global ACS Leadership Team.
You will be part of a team that provides technical and practical advice to internal and external clients in how to resolve complex accounting issues arising from the implementation of IFRS and issues arising from events and transactions. You will also be involved in helping to drive the global strategic priorities for ACS.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for a high performing senior manager. As part of the role, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the GACS Leadership Team’s agenda, interacting with the LT partners and running related projects. This includes overseeing the GACS conference as well as responsibility for policy and operational matters.
The Global Head of Reporting and Chief Accountant (“Chief Accountant”) leads the Global ACS network of IFRS technical specialists. This network comprises around 400 staff and partners based in around 50 countries. The Chief Accountant is also responsible for ESG Reporting and will be driving the network’s strategy for this going forward. The GACS Leadership Team is made up of 14 senior ACS partners representing the ACS Topic Streams and key territories around the world, chaired by the Chief Accountant.
The Chief Accountant is a member of the Global Assurance Leadership Team (GALT) and Global Quality Assurance Executive (QAEx) and reports to the GALT and QAEx on Global ACS activities and IFRS issues at its regular calls and meetings.

Support to the Chief Accountant
Prepare papers and presentations for the Chief Accountant on a wide range of strategic, policy and operational topics. This includes preparing communications and updates for the Global Assurance Leadership Team (GALT), QAEx, Territory Assurance Leaders, ACS Territory Leaders and the wider GACS network, as well as liaison with chiefs of staff of the Quality Assurance Executive.
Coordinate strategic newsletters to the GACS network.
Organise and contribute to quarterly Global ACS network calls.
Keep in regular contact with senior GACS members and bring matters arising to the Chief Accountant’s attention.
Keep up to date with the Chief Accountant’s commitments and anticipate any input/preparation necessary for forthcoming events.
Secretary to the Global ACS Leadership Team
Manage the GACS Leadership Team’s agenda: anticipate and identify agenda topics; prepare and present papers; document minutes and actions; and ensure that meetings and calls run smoothly.
Run associated GACS Leadership Team projects as they arise.
Oversee all aspects of the GACS conference. This may be a virtual and/or an in-person meeting occurring annually. The virtual conference includes the global ACS network (approximately 450 attendees worldwide). An in-person conference (to the extent feasible) is expected to be a 2-3 day in-person meeting in London with approximately 150 attendees. Organisation of the conference(s) includes managing the content and logistics; coordinating with executive assistants on administrative matters; preparing presentations; arranging and liaising with speakers; and overseeing post-conference communications and actions.
Facilitate implementation of GACS strategic priorities and actions, working with senior GACS members.
Liaise with GACS partners regarding accreditation and membership: lead the GACS nomination and annual member confirmation process.
Policy and operational matters
Primary contact for practice partners and staff, Global ACS partners and consultants, and the Leadership Team on GACS policy, quality and operations, including scheduling out-of-territory financial statement reviews as required.
Support the UK ACS Leader in making the best use of the UK Firm's contribution to the Global ACS network and effectively implementing global initiatives into the UK ACS team.
This is a high profile role with significant exposure to senior partners across the network and is likely to suit a senior manager with the following skills and attributes:
A self-starter, able to use initiative to decide what needs to be done without being told;
Excellent organisational, project management and delivery skills;
Superior writing skills, including the ability to create high quality presentations, reports and briefing papers;
Strong verbal communication skills, a good negotiator with the confidence and credibility to interact with senior leaders across the network;
A high degree of professionalism and integrity, able to work effectively in a sensitive environment;
A people person, able to influence and build relationships with a wide variety of individuals, and foster that network;
An understanding of ACS’ role within Assurance in providing IFRS advice and support to engagement teams and clients.
ACA/ACCA/ICAS exam qualified.
